Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Montreal team, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for supporting the technical team at Altan Construction across all client projects. The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) will work on lifting projects, mechanical design, maintenance, and design work. Coordination support for assigned projects will also be necessary. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers at Altan Construction, client project managers, and project subcontractors while providing high-quality and confidential technical support.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects.
- Provide advice and additional training to foremen.
- Monitor project progress.
- Coordinate client projects.
- Track time and manage project scope revision procedures.
- Conduct weekly site visits.
- Participate in site meetings.
- Attend company meetings.
- Support safety reviews and inspections.
- Serve as a liaison between the technical office and foremen (project).
- Handle ad hoc projects.
Experience, Skills & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) as an EIT.
- ASP Construction card.
- Field experience (site or industrial) is an asset.
- Demonstrate an interest and sensitivity towards health and safety at work.
- Proficiency in French, both oral and written; English is an asset.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
