Industrial Mechanic / Welder
Job Description
Under the supervision of the foreman/project manager, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for supporting the construction team.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with other mechanics, welders, and tradespeople, providing high-quality and confidential technical support on-site.
Main Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical plans, diagrams, and schematics (pneumatic and hydraulic) and maintenance manuals to determine the course of action.
- Install, adjust, inspect, and repair fixed industrial machinery or mechanical equipment, and troubleshoot causes of malfunctions.
- Operate various lifting devices and equipment.
- Manufacture parts necessary for machinery repair, maintenance, and assembly using machining tools such as lathes and grinders.
- Intervene on-site during planned shutdowns at client locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
- Plan the various stages related to welding work.
- Determine and implement required welding processes.
- Use manual and semi-automatic welding tools.
- Operate metalworking machines (e.g., shears, bending presses).
- Perform welding and brazing of metals to design products or infrastructures.
- Perform welding and brazing of metals to repair products or infrastructures.
- Conduct quality control checks.
- Assume any other responsibilities related to the role.
Experience, Skills & Education
- DEP in Welding-Fitting, DEP in Industrial Mechanics, or related experience.
- 1 to 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- ASP Construction card.
- Miner Modules 1-2-3-4-5-7 are an asset.
- CWB (4 positions) card is an asset.
- High-pressure welding card is an asset.
- Any field (site) experience will be considered an asset.
- Demonstrate an interest and sensitivity towards health and safety at work.
- Proficiency in French, both oral and written; English is an asset.
