Mechanical engineer
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue team, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for supporting the technical team at Altan Construction across all its client projects. The engineer will be involved in lifting projects, mechanical design, maintenance, and P&ID design. Support in coordination for assigned projects will also be required. In this role, you will work collaboratively with project managers at Altan Construction, client project managers, and project subcontractors.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects.
- Provide advice and additional training to foremen.
- Track project progress using MS Project (Planning).
- Coordinate client projects.
- Monitor time and project scope revision procedures.
- Conduct weekly site visits.
- Participate in site meetings.
- Attend company meetings.
- Support safety reviews and inspections.
- Serve as a liaison between the technical office and foremen (project).
- Handle ad hoc projects.
Experience, Skills & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- ASP Construction card.
- Field experience (site or industrial) is an asset.
- Demonstrate an interest and sensitivity towards health and safety at work.
- Proficiency in French, both oral and written; English is an asset.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
